BEAUTY BAR: SMELL THIS

While I was in Italy the past month I had the pleasure of meeting and working with a lot of wonderful brands, designers and people. From attending events, to wearing beautiful clothes, accessories (hello beautiful new Celine sunglasses)and even fragrances.

I figured this would be the perfect post to kick off a new section of my blog that is starting (officially) next week. The Beauty Bar. As of next week it will be every Monday- I’ll share everything from new products I love, tested and true products, best buys, must haves- makeup, hair, skin/body, fragrances and more. I get so many questions regarding my beauty regimen so it’s about time to for me to begin sharing it all with you.

About perfumes and fragrances- I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit and we seem to usually get stuck in a routine where we use only one fragrance. I’m guilty. You find something you like and you stick with it. The more I think about it though, do you really want to smell exactly the same all the time? From an important lunch business meeting, to a romantic dinner with your new hot fling? Spring brunch with your family, to a girls night out on the town? No, sounds strange when you look at it that way.

I’m making it a point to explore new fragrances.

This month Gucci released a new fragrance- Forever Now, in honour of the Gucci Museo and the House’s Florentine heritage. Designed by creative director Frida Giannini and distinguished perfumer Lorenzo Villoresi- you can only expect it to be wonderful. It’s quite different than the usual light fruity choices I go for, but I like it. I imagine myself walking through a palatial Italian villa when I wear it. It’s classic and elegant, and with the musky base a little dark and mysterious. The mixture of notes is a delicate balance that makes the fragrance suitable for both men and women.

My best friend (who tends to choose more musky, androgynous and wood based scents than me) is claiming it as her favourite new fragrance.
