Sitting at your desk in the correct way
So you have contacted a Next Day delivery desks company and are excited about waiting for your delivery. Have you thought about your desk set up and the correct way to sit at your desk to help protect your back and neck? Probably not, most people don’t really think about their desk posture until they start to get discomfort or pain in their back, neck, head and shoulders. Here are some tips on how to sit at your desk correctly.
- Make sure that your back is and bottom are right back against the chair and you are not hunched over your desk. If it is difficult for you to sit at the back of the chair you can invest in a back support or use a pillow to help with this.
- Keep your feet flat on the floor or use a riser if this is not possible. This should help to keep your hips and knees at a 90 degree angle to the floor. In turn this helps to support the spine and prevent cramps and pain from occurring in these areas.
- Taking breaks from your desk and computer is just as important as the correct sitting position. You should aim to get up and stretch for every hour that you are sat at your desk.
